Holy Crap, I'm alive!

Yes, its true. I am still breathing. I cant believe I havent posted here since Christmas. I am not even going to try to catch everyone up on December - July so I'll just go with whats going on today.

Meds: Lamictal 200mg, Cymbalta 30mg, Geodon 120mg, Klonopin .5 mg/ twice a day. I think thats it.

When I last posted I was taking Abilify, so I'll give you a short run down on how that ceased. Basically, I started having tremors...hands, mouth, tongue. So that had to go. Then came Risperdal, that made me lactate. Ummm...yeah, if youve never had that happen, let me just promise you it is weird. Sooo...back to Geodon, which I have taken in the past. Its been a while, possibly 6 months or so that I have been on it, and all is well.

I wanna thank you guys for continuing to read even though I am a slacker. I will try to do better. I am just really trying not to dwell on the illness. I do like the fact that this blog seems to help some people, so Im hanging on to it. I appreciate all the comments.

later.

Hi, wanted to say that I sympathize about the abilify side effects - I had a horrible time on it too. I just started my bipolar blog at http://lithiumlog.blogspot.com if you're interested in comparing notes about the ups and downs of daily living with bipolar disorder. :-)

Hi. I found your blog very interesting. Also dx'd with BP, I took Abilify and it made my legs shake and tremor and my eye twitch. Risperdal worked wonderfully and then suddenly stopped working. Lamictal and Lithium are my lifelines. Do you still blog?

I take lithium, klonopin, and invega (psychotropic, and works well, but without insurance an arm and a leg).

Thanks for your post I was interested to know what others have experienced on the other psychotripic meds since my insurance is up and the cost of the needed med is killing me. So you recommend Geodon? What symptoms were you having to be placed on it?
Are you bipolar 1 or 2?

Please check out my new blog, it's fun, at http://manicviolet.com/blog/
leave a comment or feedback if you get the chance and want to, I'd really appreciate!

Thanks again, and hope you have a great week!

I was on abilify a few years back and was so agitated I couldn't sit still for a few seconds. Spent the days pacing around the house continually. It was terrible. My doctor said that this may be only temporary and that I should stay on it for a week and see. Didn't go away, and I just ended up feeling horrible for a whole week. The whole drug game is a joke, they just throw things at you and see what works and what doesn't make you even crazier.
anyway good luck. also for anyone who's' interested, here's a great article for couples dealing with bipolar, its helped my girlfriend and I a lot.

Hi jill, I'm in cali here, I'm bipolar as well, I've been on topamax 400 milligrams a day and recently started taking geodon as well, only 40 mg a day. But I think it makes me more manic than before. Did you experience this when you first started taking it? Did this go away after the first couple weeks? thanks...M.

Hi there, Jil,
I just happened across your blog and wanted to tell you about a book that my friend George Denslow has written, entitled Living Out of Darkness: A personal journey of embracing the bipolar opportunity. He's spent the last 20 years developing a holistic spiritual approach to bipolar that works for him, and wanted to share that with others, so he has written this book. You can learn more about him and his book, as well as read his blog, here: www.LivingOutofDarkness.com

just found your blog.

wow, lactation. that's something you don't hear every day.

reminds me of a professor of mine, who once said, "obviously, none of you have ever made love to a lactating woman."

don't ask.

anyway, i'm pretty much on the same meds as you.

i found the geodone spaced me out too much.

love lamictal though.

i've started a blog of my own. would love your advice, if you get a chance to check it out (http://mad-drunk-and-broke.blogspot.com/)

i'll check out the archive sooner or later.

take it easy, man
